Vote YES for Bonds and Levies by February 13
Education is at the heart of a healthy economy and it is one of the most important assets we have to recover our region’s economy, attract businesses to our community, create new jobs, and ensure we have a strong workforce to fill those jobs. GSI supports all regional public school levies and encourages you to VOTE YES for Education and our Economy by February 13, 2024.
Funding helps fill the gap between what the state funds and what programs cost as part of basic education.
In the upcoming special election, levies require a simple majority approval rate on ballots, while bonds require 60 percent approval. #EducationGrowsEconomies

What are Bonds and Levies?
Levy dollars fill an important gap between what the state funds and what programs cost including critical positions such as nurses, counselors, and making smaller class sizes obtainable.
The revenue generated funds programs and services that the the state does not fund or fully fund as part of basic education. Some of these include:
- Art, music, drama classes
- Technology, textbooks, and materials
- Science Technology Engineering, Math (STEM)
- Student transportation
- Smaller classrooms
- Extracurricular activities and positions such as counselors and nurses
Bonds and capital levies are needed for infrastructure, technology, safety improvements, security, and building improvements. Districts do not receive money from the state to repair or build new facilities.
Many schools are overcrowded due to a growing population or need repairs and improvements.
Local taxes fund a significant portion of our K-12 education system. GSI understands that a well-rounded education today is critical for our community’s success and for the growth of our economy.

Register to Vote
Register to vote or update your address today. You will need valid state ID or your Washington State Driver License. You can register online now or print and mail-in a voter registration form by February 5, 2024. You can register in person until February 13, 2024.
Key Dates
- January 14, 2024 – Ballots for Military/overseas.
- January 26, 2024 – Start of 18-day voting period (through Election Day). Ballots are mailed out and Accessible Voting Units (AVUs) are available at voting centers.
- January 27, 2024 – Rally for Schools at The Red Wagon at 10:30 AM
- February 5, 2024 – Online and mail registrations must be received 8 days before Election Day.
- February 13, 2024 – Deadline to register to vote in person during business hours and any time before 8 PM on Election Day
- February 13, 2024 Special Election – Deadline to postmark or deposit your ballot in an official drop box by 8 PM.
